Content of a 2 day workshop at Codarts School of Music in Rotterdan - The Netherlands

Schedule Day 1 Percussionists / Drummers (24 April 2006)

Introduction with CD Examples – various styles, backgrounds and history all Percussion in common: Focus on various Rhythms – the Orchestration and Harmonisation of the instruments used and the interaction with Melody other instruments and soloing

Play 1 ‘Get to Know each other’ – Name drumming.

Excersize ‘write down this rhythm… ‘

Dha Ga Tin Nah on steps (4 quarter notes on quarter beat stepping)
Dha – Ga - Dhin - Naah (3 beats over quarter beat stepping (quarter note triplets)
Dhaa - Dhin - group of 2 on quarter beat stepping (half notes)
